itzel’s custom bridal pieces for her wedding in mérida, yucatán.

process
for iztel’s custom bridal piece the process was deeply personal—every detail, every decision was made with itzel’s vision in mind. i wanted her to be part of every step of this journey, from sourcing fabrics to sketching ideas, ensuring the final pieces felt like an extension of her story.
itzel started by sourcing a vintage bridal set, where we wanted to keep the skirt but repurpose the corset and create a new matching corset along with an after-look skirt.
i sourced a satin fabric to perfectly match her vintage skirt, using it as the base for the new pieces. to keep it breathable in mérida’s heat, i decided to lined the corset with organic deadstock cotton, but still providing structure and support with extra boning working on the custom silhouette itzel wanted.
for the final details, the intricate beading from the original piece was carefully repurposed. extra beading on the bust was meticulously sewn by hand, and as a personal touch, her name was stitched inside the piece. for the after-look skirt, we decided on a bias-cut a-line silhouette that complemented the handmade corset perfectly.
after months of sketching, pattern-making, fittings, and handcrafting, the pieces came to life. —a reflection of collaboration, care, and love.
